Business Inspirers – Innovations Awards are granted by the Newseria Information Agency and go to companies that set new, innovative directions and identify development opportunities. Emitel S.A. was granted the Business Inspirer Award for Smart City solutions supporting the development of Economy 4.0.

“We do realize that this is just the beginning. We are convinced that on the basis of solutions proposed by Emitel, it is possible to generate an almost infinite number of ideas for improving the living comfort of city dwellers and to create new business ventures. These activities create opportunities to increase the efficiency of using available resources, be it urban or private, and to manage more efficiently the infrastructure in the possession. It is also an opportunity to create new revenue flows for companies, and significant savings for the city authorities”- added Andrzej Kozłowski.

The activities carried out by Emitel for the first time are described in the Report titled “Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices”, published by the Responsible Business Forum. The report contains 1190 good business practices in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development, and this is the largest review of such activities in Poland in a given year.

The report comprises ten examples of Emitel’s good practices in the following fields: “corporate governance”, “human rights” and “labour law practices”. The company was appreciated, among others occupational health and safety measures, regulation of issues related to counteracting mobbing and discrimination at the workplace, implementation of the code of ethics and also for a number of measures taken in the area of labour law. Participation in the nationwide Report confirms that Emitel builds the strength of the organization based on best practices and market trends in the CSR area.

The competition has continuously been run for 18 years now by the Institute of Labour and Social Studies under the honorary patronage of the Minister for Family, Labour and Social Policy. The award winners in the Competition are the best of the best. Every year, the Competition Jury identifies the best employers, i.e. those who operate on the basis of the best world practices, care for organizational culture and a good working atmosphere, pay special attention to diversity management in the workplace and constantly develop employees while improving management processes.
