FAQ

Which terrestrial television reception antenna should I choose?

When choosing a terrestrial television reception antenna, you should remember about the following guidelines:

There are no all-purpose antennas

You should select the antenna for a specific location and the parameters of the signal you plan to receive.

Avoid indoor and panel antennas

Unless they’re used in rare locations close to broadcasting facilities, they don’t ensure stable reception.

Don’t be influenced by marketing descriptions

There are no “digital”, “DVB-T”, or “HDTV” antennas – those and similar descriptions are merely marketing strategies, which have nothing to do with product quality.

A value of dB or dBi

That is overly high and often strongly displayed on the packaging is usually owed to the amplifier used (which is not always good quality), not to the antenna gain by itself.

If possible, avoid antenna amplifiers

An amplification is not the same thing as antenna gain. An amplifier that’s unfit for local conditions worsens signal parameters.

If you wish to select an antenna best fit for your specific location and for the channels that interest you in a convenient manner, use our app – EmiMaps.

Maintenance breaks

Are you having issues with the reception of digital terrestrial television?

It might be a result of maintenance work conducted within the facility from which you receive your signal. The maintenance work may cause a temporary reduction in broadcast quality (e.g., white noise) or a short-term total lack of TV access.
