News Emitel joins Legia’s #READYTOHELP campaign for senior citizens

Emitel, the largest operator of terrestrial radio and television infrastructure in Poland and a partner of Legia Warszawa football club since 2018, has provided substantive and financial support for the largest aid campaign for senior citizens organised in Warsaw.

#READYTOHELP is the first comprehensive support campaign in Warsaw, which provides actual and direct assistance to seniors during the epidemic. The participants of the campaign include top companies operating on the Polish market, as well as institutions, social organisations, public figures and individuals, who operate out of Legia Stadium. The multifaceted support activities include launching a free helpline for seniors – 800 919 160, co-financing and delivering meals for senior citizens, grocery shopping, offering technological support, assistance related to telecommunications, computers and using the Internet, and a Talk Line.

Emitel, who has been Legia Warszawa’s technological partner since 2018, decided to join the project. On hybrid TV channel 89, terrestrial television recipients can watch the content and media presented by the club, training matches and reports from the most important events in the life of the club.

The COVID-19 pandemic is not only an enormous business challenge, but also a test in social responsibility. That is why we decided to join the #READYTOHELP campaign organised by Legia Warszawa football club, which provides help for seniors and people in need during the pandemic. The involvement of Emitel is the best proof of the company’s social sensitivity and our willingness to always help those in need, said Andrzej J. Kozłowski, President of the Management Board of Emitel S.A. We support the campaign financially, we also offer substantive support, with our call centre specialists providing knowledge and information concerning receiving TV and radio signal. We also encouraged our Staff to take part in volunteering activities connected with the #READYTOHELP campaign. We are all more or less affected by the restrictions introduced due to the epidemic, but I encourage everybody to join in helping those in need, President Kozłowski added.

The #READYTOHELP campaign is organised under the auspices of the Capital City of Warsaw and Voivode of Mazovia.
