Emitel published a new edition of the company’s report on corporate social responsibility. The document presents the most important projects and initiatives undertaken by Emitel in 2018. The number of Emitel’s social and green initiatives is systematically growing and the Company continuously implements new ideas.

Emitel’s high-rise facilities are spread all over the country, which is why the company pays particular attention to the care for the people and the natural environment in the immediate vicinity of broadcasting stations. Emitel implements environmentally friendly waste management by using solutions enabling waste recycling, as well as a waste neutralisation process for waste that could not be prevented and for which recycling was not possible, implemented in line with the principles of environmental protection.

The innovative actions undertaken by Emitel since last year include, among others, the Electromagnetic Fields Environmental Protection Workshops, addressed to schoolchildren and youth. The aim of the workshops is to disseminate knowledge about electromagnetic fields, their use in today’s world and about the risks that they may pose in an accessible way. During the workshops, Emitel Employees showed children an animated film describing possible dangers resulting from the emission of electromagnetic fields and the preventive actions we take to avoid them.

In making any business decision concerning relations in the workplace or cooperation with local communities, Emitel Staff are guided by a value system. The company’s Code of Ethics regulates the general business practices on the basis of which the business is conducted. It is a set of principles, deeply rooted in honesty, openness, responsibility, fairness and mutual respect. All contracts with suppliers and customers of the company include a commitment that they will also comply with the Code of Ethics. The Company has also appointed the Ombudsman for Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination, whose role is to respond to any concerns raised by Employees.

The company takes care of its employees and their relatives in a comprehensive manner. Employees have the opportunity to participate in a variety of training courses, as well as take advantage of private health care and group insurance – most programmes also cover families of our staff. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle remains one of the highest priorities for our company. Emitel organises mountain rallies and sporting events, such as a football tournament for its staff. Every year, Emitel takes part in a campaign called “Bike to work – home, bike, work… all year round,” carried out by the City of Krakow. The aim of the campaign is to promote cycling as a daily means of transport to and from work.

“Being a leader in the industry obliges us to look for innovative solutions in the field of social activities. We strongly believe in building lasting relations; we want to set trends and our ambition is to lead the changes. This is why we make sure that our goals are achieved through everyday work, in a manner that is responsible both towards our stakeholders and the environment. We also do not forget to create a friendly and attractive workplace for our employees,” said Andrzej Kozłowski – President of the Management Board of Emitel S.A.
