High-rise facilities
In order to provide services based upon radio communication, it is necessary to use phone masts as well as towers and support structures on which antennas are installed.
Emitel manages a large number of high-rise facilities, upon which additional equipment can be placed. At our disposal there are also resources that allow for construction of such facilities on demand.

Challenge
Operators of radio facilities often do not have – or have insufficient – resources in terms of high-altitude infrastructure, so that their radio signal cannot reach the expected reception sites. The construction of new facilities requires significant financial resources and often faces formal, legal or social restrictions. The solution to this problem is to rent space for the installation of antenna systems and radio communication equipment on existing facilities.

Emitel throughout the country has the infrastructure necessary to provide radio and broadcasting services. The facilities that comprise it are sufficiently highly placed to reach a wide audience, e.g. radio and television subscribers or professional radio network users. We have several towers and masts and other high-altitude facilities throughout Poland from which radio signals can reach consumers without hindrance. We offer access to these facilities as well as the necessary accompanying services, such as space for the installation of radio equipment, power supply, and protection of installed equipment, and if required, we also provide radio consultancy and planning.
We have numerous towers and masts across the country, which we make available to telecommunications operators or provide radio and television broadcasters with services using them. Many of them are radio masts with heights of up to 350 m or lower structures located on hills, which provide the clients with exceptionally favourable and unique conditions for the propagation of radio signals in a given area. Applications of such facilities include:

- trunking networks
- mobile telephony networks
As one of the largest owners and suppliers of high-altitude infrastructure, Emitel has been building and maintaining towers for mobile operators for more than 30 years. Telecommunication towers with associated infrastructure, built at locations indicated by mobile operators, include more than 400 sites, and in total, we have provided mobile operators with more than 950 locations.
For the needs of mobile operators, Emitel also provides systems to ensure connectivity in shopping centres, stadiums, and so forth.
Emitel is also the largest technical operator of broadcasting services. The facilities providing broadcasting services include more than 300 locations. They provide access to numerous DVB-T terrestrial television channels or UKF FM and DAB radio across Poland.
Emitel is intensively developing Internet of Things services based on LoRa WAN. The largest project in this area is a system covering the whole of Wrocław with radio coverage, which was possible thanks to multiple access points (Gateway) installations on rooftops.
The Emitel infrastructure is made available in many areas of the country to emergency services such as the Fire Brigade, Emergency Ambulance Service and the Police for trunking communications. They are already using around 100 facilities.
Local Internet providers use a significant part of the Emitel infrastructure as access nodes to radio networks.
Many operators use Emitel facilities to set up radio links for their customers or as connecting nodes of their transmission network. Over 300 facilities operate in this capacity.

Lightweight support structures on rooftops
In areas of dense urban development, we build support structures for antennas and radio equipment on the rooftops, facilitating the development of telecommunications networks for operators.
Mobile phone masts
Wherever there is a need for a quick start-up of new radio stations for a transitional period, we provide mobile radio masts that can be erected in a few hours. They can be used, for example, as temporary base stations of mobile networks for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint radio links and so forth.
