Water meter reading
Smart water consumption readings. Thanks to the modern solutions of IoT, you will significantly lower the water supply system maintenance costs and immediately locate potential malfunctions.
Challenge
Every property connected to the water supply network has at least one water consumption meter. In housing estates, there are often thousands of such metering points. Periodic meter reading poses a major logistical challenge.
Solution
Remote metering systems provide a solution to this problem. These systems use electronic meters or overlays on existing mechanical meters that deliver regular, remote water consumption readings.
Instantaneous analysis
Emitel solution enables automatic data transmission over the LoRaWAN® low-energy, long-range wireless network to data collection and analysis systems. Simultaneous reading of multiple meters enables data correlation at different points in the water supply network and subsequent detection of anomalies, such as leaks or unauthorised water abstraction.

Smart water reading
We have built an innovative remote reading system for water consumption meters for the Municipal Water and Sewage Company (MPWiK) in Wrocław. This is Poland’s first smart city project of such scale that uses the LoRaWAN® network.
This is how we have created a network that covers the entire city of Wrocław. Our technicians have mounted specified overlays on top of the city water meters, which allow wireless connection to them.
We have also provided the maintenance and service of the entire system for MPWiK.
Parking systems
Thanks to modern parking sensors, drivers locate spaces for their vehicles more quickly. Efficient parking improves city traffic flow and reduces emissions into the atmosphere.
Challenge
According to estimates, up to 30% of city centre traffic is attributable to drivers looking for parking spaces, which negatively affects traffic flow, causes driver frustration and increases emissions.
Solution
Smart parking systems provide real-time information about the availability of parking spaces in a given city via special sensors that remotely communicate with the city’s application, which displays on dedicated boards or phone applications the info on where drivers can find a free place to park their vehicle. As a result, drivers save time and fuel by not having to search for a parking space.

With real-time information on the occupancy rate of individual car parks, drivers can immediately go to a place where they can park their vehicles without problems.

Parking occupancy sensors
Specialists at Emitel have designed and then created a communications network fit for the needs of the smart parking system in the Piaseczno Municipality. Our technicians have also installed and configured 340 sensors carefully selected for this purpose.
Aside from the remote parking occupation readings, the Piaseczno Municipality also gained a possibility of managing other infrastructural elements. In designated areas, we have placed 10 ultrasound waste bin fill level sensors, 6 flood detectors for monitoring the water level in rivers and main drainage ditches, as well as a set of environmental sensors (monitoring temperature, noise level, and air humidity).
The use of IoT technology in the water consumption monitoring process allows not only for billing clients based on actual monthly consumption, but above all else it affects the limiting of water waste and the significant improvement in the effectiveness of infrastructure management processes. That results in lower costs for the water supply company and the consumers.

Lighting management
Smart street lights. Modern smart street lights systems allow for lowering the maintenance costs of urban lighting and accelerate malfunction repairs.
Challenge
Anomalies in the proper functioning of street lights not only reduces quality of life of the inhabitants, but they may also pose a threat to their safety.
Solution
Modern controllers mounted on luminaires allow for remote control of the street lamp and for the ongoing monitoring of its activity, thanks to which they enable the detection of any anomalies. They also automatically inform the conservator which lamp requires repairs.
Full control over the lighting
More advanced sensors allow for remote control of the street lamps – turning them on, off, and even adjusting the brightness of light.
