Emitel S.A. is intensifying its activities in the Greater Poland region. The company continues to develop projects across the country.

Key nationwide projects in recent years have included the development of a remote monitoring system for water meters in Wrocław, the installation of a network signal amplification system at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów and the provision of a leased Internet connection for the organisers of the Impact CEE conference in Poznań.

The capital of Greater Poland is where Emitel sees enormous potential for implementing innovative Internet of Things technologies in local governments and businesses. The company has established cooperation with the Poznań City Hall and the In_Spire Foundation (a foundation of the MTP Group), becoming the first partner of the Poznań CityLab programme, inaugurated by these entities. The joint objective is to popularise modern technologies, implement pilot projects (POC model – Proof of Concept) and develop innovative solutions in Smart City and DAS (Distributed Antenna System) systems.

On 28 February, a meeting inaugurating cooperation took place in Poznań, during which the signatories signed a tripartite letter of intent. Michał Łakomski (Director of Digitalization and Cybersecurity for the city of Poznan, the Mayor’s Proxy for Smart City), Iwona Kasprzak (President of the In_Spire Foundation) and Maciej Staszak (Vice President of the Management Board of Emitel) hosted the event. During the meeting, the parties presented the assumptions of the Poznań CityLab programme and discussed the possibilities of implementing innovative technological solutions from Emitel’s business offer.

– Emitel is not only a technology integrator but primarily an active member of local communities and a participant in local technology ecosystems. Thanks to our presence in the regions, we can better respond to the needs of partners and residents. Consequently, we have consistently expanded our regional business representatives network for several months. The Greater Poland region is a place that has been consistently developing the Smart City concept for years, and the Poznań CityLab programme is another step on this path. We are happy to be part of this initiative and to work together on solutions that will affect the development of the entire region.- said Maciej Staszak, Vice President, Emitel.

The Poznań City Lab programme integrates the business, scientific and social communities, supporting innovation development benefiting city residents and local entrepreneurs. Emitel will be actively involved in testing and implementing new solutions, supporting the development of Greater Poland as one of the leaders in technological innovation.
