The report provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s sustainability strategy and innovative projects that support the transformation of Poland’s telecommunications sector. Key highlights include a zero-emission heating project, employee well-being initiatives, patronage of Polish culture and sport, and achieving 100% renewable energy sourcing.
The fifth edition of Emitel’s ESG Report presents the data and outcomes of the company’s sustainability strategy. Emitel continues to systematically prepare for the implementation of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), including stakeholder mapping and stakeholder engagement activities. At the same time, the company develops a double materiality assessment, which will form the foundation of next year’s report prepared in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
In the environmental area, a strategic milestone was the certification of the company’s Energy Management System in line with ISO 50001:2018. In 2025, Emitel sourced 100% of its electricity demand — amounting to 84 GWh — from renewable energy, both through its own generation and secured guarantees of origin. The company is also successfully developing its innovative “Zero-Emission Heating” project, which involves recovering heat generated by RTV transmitters to heat technical facilities. The initiative received the top award in the ESG Innovator 2025 competition in the Energy Transition category.
“Operating in a responsible and sustainable manner is of strategic importance to us. Year after year, we improve our energy efficiency, enhancing financial performance while reducing our carbon footprint. In the face of dynamic regulatory changes and growing social expectations, we see ESG implementation not only as an obligation, but also as a vital component in building a responsible and sustainable business,” says Maciej Pilipczuk, President of the Management Board at Emitel
The company continues to deliver a wide range of initiatives involving employees and social partners. For the sixth consecutive year, Emitel has been awarded the Top Employer Poland certification, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the highest standards in HR practices, workplace culture, and employee development. Last year, the company expanded its corporate values framework by introducing a fifth pillar, namely “Leadership and Accountability”, with a strong emphasis on proactive employee engagement. Emitel also launched an internal educational campaign titled “Mental Health Without Fear or Shame”.
Cultural and social engagement also remained an important part of the company’s strategy. Emitel continued its partnership with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, supporting, among others, the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition, while also serving as the technology partner of the 65th Krakow Film Festival. In education and sport, Emitel supported the development of young talent as a partner of the “Zwolnieni z Teorii” social projects olympiad, as well as the main sponsor of women’s football club KKP Warszawa and the wheelchair fencing section of Legia Warszawa.
In the area of corporate governance and technological development, Emitel consistently supported Poland’s digital transformation. The company launched Poland’s first pilot 5G Broadcast transmission in Warsaw and expanded its drone traffic monitoring network (Emitel Drone Labs) across eight domestic airports. For the sixth consecutive year, Emitel has been awarded the Top Employer Poland certification, recognising the company’s continued commitment to the highest standards in human resources management, workplace culture, and employee development.
